The Horse That Started It All

Dr Silver began with Silver—a horse whose health challenges highlighted the need for a more considered approach to equine nutritional support.

Silver experienced respiratory challenges and joint stiffness. Despite trying a range of equine products, we did not find solutions that provided consistent, meaningful support.

This experience led us to take a more structured and evidence-informed approach to equine nutrition and formulation.

Research & Development

A Commitment to a Better Approach

We developed our approach through focused research into equine nutritional science, with particular attention to how key ingredients and nutritional strategies relate to:

• Respiratory function

• Joint and mobility health

• Inflammatory balance in horses

• Digestive and nutritional support systems

From this, we developed carefully formulated supplements designed to support normal physiological function and overall equine wellbeing.

Over time, we observed improvements in Silver’s comfort, breathing, and mobility.

Bear's Legacy
Alongside Silver, there was Bear.
Bear was our beloved Herdwick ram, but to us he was family.
He reminded us that every animal is an individual, with their own personality, character, and ability to leave a lasting mark on our lives. Through his companionship, trust, and unique spirit, Bear reinforced the values that guide everything we do today: care, compassion, responsibility, and a commitment to animal wellbeing.
Bear taught us that every animal matters, every life has value, and every moment spent caring for them is important.
Although Bear is no longer with us, he remains an important part of our story and the values that continue to shape Dr Silver today.
